Re: fuse with constant 12V

Go with 11 , it worked for me. You need a ATM type tap, as a low profile one will not fit. Also you have to make sure you know which is the positive side. Here is a good video on finding the constant 12V and ACC fuse slots. Its good to have a circuit tester, but I found it was a tight space and the...

Re: Headlights on 2013 Interceptor sedan

Could tell you were from Canadastan just from the words safety and plated lol, not sure why Americans call them tags. The headlights are pretty good in my experience! I have the stock ones, switched out for "the best" halogen and no difference at all. The do suck in the rain storms in the areas wher...

Try pressing the trunk release button several timea just right of the center screen.
The button works but I've had these things fail in the past. I'm really hoping I can get the lock working :/

trunk lock stuck!!

I tried to turn the trunk lock (should be clockwise right?) and it won't budge.

I've tried a few keys, and they go in all the way but it won't turn at all. It's above freezing here so I doubt anything is frozen and I did give it a decent amount of force.

What are my next steps?

Re: Hypothesis: Ford dumped Limited’s to fleet sales

I love that when ford made the car they said they won't really sell it to rentals because that tarnishes the image. So much for that!

Up to 5 years whichever comes first. Seems pretty generous on something that often gets driven hard.
Based on my car they need to use it a lot too :/

Re: Do P.I. trunk lids have inner linings?

mine did not come with a trunk or hood liner. i was able to find a trunk liner in a junk yard from a 2010 Taurus SEL and it fit perfectly. snaps in and out easily. cost me 5 bucks. lol very jealous never seen these cars in yards where I live and scappers want dealer prices minus 15% for any parts :/

fuse with constant 12V

I've tried the radio fuse and the spare but both turn off after a while.

Any ones ok especially considering the fusebox is really tiny so some spots you can't even add a tap

Re: New to me 2014 Taurus PI. What should I watch out for?

Things change overtime, always new generation of police officers coming in, most of them are nice about it. Antennas wouldn't get you in trouble, but the PB and lighting will definitely turn heads. Besides, if you're in a CVPI, they wouldn't care. 90-95% of all agencies in Canada have already phase...

Re: New to me 2014 Taurus PI. What should I watch out for?

I did note that the Police interceptor badge is on the trunk lid so you should check to make sure your local POPO's don't have an issue with the trunk badge. What would happen if I drove mine to Canada with grille lights, deck lights, side and mirror strobes, spot light, antenna, etc.? Lmao, no lol...

Re: California Catalytic Converter Replacement

Hi All, I’m having a dilemma with my 2008 Ford Taurus with approximately 175.000 miles! I received a P0420 code which is Bank 1, Cat not operating correctly. I replaced all 4 O2 sensors however the code returned and is now more frequent than before. The vehicle has California emissions. I have sear...

Re: New to me 2014 Taurus PI. What should I watch out for?

Check all the front lower control arm bushings for play or replace the arms at about $80 each. They are a well known item to go. Find out if the back door handles and locks work and have the dealer fix them if they don't. I drive everyday in Ontario with a Pi badge on the rear. I wave at passing po...

How to tell if I have an exhaust leak?

Noticed a few months back engine sounds more "rumbly" under 2000 rpm, and I hear a fluttery noise (non turbo car) when accelerating.

I can post a video if it'd help but it's really hard to pickup on camera. My engine was out more than once so maybe a seal isn't on totally right?

Re: Used an oil additive, engine sounds rougher at 1200-2k rpm

Anytime I do something with my PIS that affects the engine mechanically and electronically, I would disconnect the battery for a few minutes. For some reason, my PIS is ultra picky on changes and disconnecting the battery resolves my issues. Gave it a try, no difference :/ Wondering if I should tak...

Re: 2013 Taurus Water Pump Failure

The 2014+ ones still fail (I've seen many cars) just that now you have 2 gaskets so 2 things to fail instead of 1 That's unfortunate... Ford should have redesigned that water pump as soon as they knew it was an issue The way all car manufacturing works is stuff is built DOWN to a certain level. Oh ...

Re: 2015 key fob PI

Hello all! First time posting, been lurking for a bit. Well my question is, I just got issued a 2015 ford Taurus police interceptor. It has a standard key, no chip. I bought two key fobs from amazon and am trying to program them. It appears I need to use the forscan program. My first question is ca...

Used an oil additive, engine sounds rougher at 1200-2k rpm

I ran some BG109 for 10 mins at 1200rpm like recomended in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3-NOGZL8ms and noticed after the oil was changed the engine sounds rougher at 1200-2000 rpm, but it doesn't feel any different driving and I don't hear anything at other RPM's. Did I break somethin...
