Re: V6 Transmission

The EPAS rack seems to be a different model, starting at 2016

Computer probably won't except older ones, though totally just a guess.

Re: Right Front Strut Issues

It seems as if you are being hosed by your mechanic. The noise you describe is much more likely from a CV joint (seems like someone had a little fun with a curb, or other such mishap) But you should also inspect the EAPS rack for damage since there has obviously been some type of collision. Struts d...

More on the EAPS...

It's something to watch out for, it's not guaranteed to fail, like the water pump is.
But knowing the unit is sensitive to heat does help.

Re: Taurus - 2011 Reliability.

Also, it's hard to detect when the water pump is failing.
On top of the high cost to repair the pump itself, it can also potentially ruin your engine.

Re: Taurus - 2011 Reliability.

Oh and water pump. This is perhaps the most common failure. Typically happens around 80-150k. Depending on previous owner. Quite expensive to fix, but can be done at home, though requires a high degree of skill or experience. It's definitely not like replacing the throttle body, which is comparative...

Re: Taurus - 2011 Reliability.

EAPS (electronic assisted power steering) overheating. This is expensive to repair. And also many electrical issues are caused by a weak battery, being undersized for the application. A larger battery fixes this. Though this will not prevent EAPS failure. Throttle body can go out, easy fix if you do...

Re: V6 Transmission

Yes, I know about doing that. Though it's difficult in researching certain components online for a vehicle you do not own. The only practical source is Wikipedia. Rockauto is a great website, though they have just about everything minus the entire transmission or engine. Anyway, thanks for the info....

V6 Transmission

Hello, first time posting here.
Which transmission comes with the 3.5 V6 NA (non turbo)?

I believe it's the 6F50 but different sources provide conflicting results.
Also, if possible, please list model year reversions or any differences.
Thanks.
