Then I guess you're on your own. Wheel shops around here charge about $125-150 to refinish a wheel FYI.

If it's still under the bumper to bumper warranty, talk to the dealer. I've seen people get rims replaced under warranty for similar circumstances. Worth asking.

I don’t see why a regular Taurus hood liner wouldn’t work, you could also consider something like Dynamat, I’m sure they have a product for that application.

Re: Brakelight Bulb confusion

When comparing automotive bulbs like these it’s not lumens that matter, it’s watts. Two different bulb part numbers that both fit can have different draws, one can melt plastic lamp housings. I’d put in whatever part # bulb that the owners manual says to use.

Re: Water pump failure rate?

Some failed under warranty so oil changes and coolant flushes aren't the proven method to prevent this built-in problem. I believe the best thing you can do to lower your chances is do proper coolant flushes with the proper coolant, perhaps even earlier than Ford initially recommends. And keep a ver...

Re: 2012 Taurus- Water collects in door panels

My 02 & 03 F150’s were very similar, the drain holes are plugged by a weatherstrip and plastic. Rusted away and by the time you could see it, it was bad. Idiotic design. Planned obsolescence perhaps.

Re: 02 sable transaxle light

Welcome! You will need a more advanced scan tool that can read advanced codes. Perhaps an auto parts store like AutoZone will be able to read the codes for free. It could be about anything so there's not much you can do until you get the codes read and do some diagnosis.

I'm not sure off-hand. You could look up the diagram from Ford's part site, that should help - https://parts.ford.com

Welcome! It should be the port where the hose goes back to the pump. Follow the lines.

Re: Replacing 12V plug?

12V plugs are ridiculously simple devices. Yours looks completely fine, I wouldn't replace it just yet, I'd try the phone charger in another car or two to see if the problem might be with it.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the retail Taurus ends production sooner, similar to what happened with the Crown Vic.

Re: ford five hundred code p0301

Do not put dielectric grease on any metal contact points, just a small amount on the boot surface that will touch the porcelain of the plug. FYI the correct use instructions. Many (most?) people use it wrong. The word dielectric indicates why it doesn’t help electrical connections ;)

Re: 2008 Trans Stutters at 40-60 MPH

It’s called a misfire. Normally misfires trigger trouble codes however I’ve seen this many times. A stutter at 40-60mph with no codes definitely can indicate a misfire. Could be a bad plug, coil, injector, etc. It has nothing to do with the transmission.

You're better off getting an OEM cat for best results. Or buy a california cat as a second choice. My $.02.

Welcome! Calipers don't warp, but brake rotors do. Normally if you replace the pads you replace the rotors so OK they only half did the brake job IMHO. You should go make sure the lug nuts are torqued properly ASAP.

Re: Recommendations on Catalytic Converter manufacturer

Stick with OEM or a 50-state legal high quality cat if you want the CEL to stay off. If you cheap out the cat won't last as long, they're cheaper for a reason. Since your issue is intermittent you could try a can of cataclean - https://amzn.to/2vmBjqC - it may help for a while if the cat isn't truly...

Perhaps it's telling you that you have low oil pressure, not quantity. I'm not sure, check the owners manual.
