Re: collision warning sensor failure

My problem with ACC continues, get the ACC or Collision Warning not available, then when reset the message that sensor is blocked, but there is no blockage. No code is available when I check the OBD. The sensor resets after some variable length of time, or when the ignition is turned off and back on...

Re: Anyone else having problems with collision warning?

I have a 2011 Taurus with the dreaded Collision Warning and cruise control problems listed here. It has been in both Brandon Ford and Jack Kain Ford with no resolutions. It happens sporadically with no warning and will eventually reset itself after driving. No bad weather or smoke/fog noted. Once la...

Re: Adaptive Cruise Control and General Questions

My 2011 with ACC also has the issue of suddenly failing and giving the Driver intervention message. Dealer in Fl couldnt duplicate the problem. Dealer in Ky applied a tsb about cleaning the filter but I still have the problem. Have a 2013 Explorer with ACC and it works fine and is less sensitive to ...

Re: Would you buy a Taurus again?

I certainly would buy it again. I love the adaptive cruise, blis, auto wipers and the seat that massages my back and rear. Best car I have ever put on the road. Black limited with all options. 20k so far.

Re: Bi directional remote Autostarter for 2011 Taurus Limite

My '11 Limited had it pre-installed when I picked it up. Sticker was 525, dealer or xplan somewhat less. It is a small fob (2 included) which starts the car from up to 1000 ft away, flashes park lights and chirps the horn. When I get in and touch the brake, it cuts off then starts as normal with the...

Re: What to do about New 2010/11 Taurus

I had a slight change of plans this week. It seems that several of the new Taurus are on factory hold. There was a production problem with at least some of the vehicles. What was originally mine has been on the lot since it was built on 7/27. My dealer found one in Nashville with the options I had o...

Re: What to do about New 2010/11 Taurus

I ordered mine 10 weeks ago today, and it was built on 7/27/10. As of last Fri. the locator showed it in Chicago waiting to be shipped. Tuxedo, Black int., Limited w/303A, ACC and Contour seats, can hardly wait. My dealer also needed no deposit, and told me if I didn't like it when it arrived, I cou...

Tire size-

My manual and vehicle state P225/60R18. When I look at tirerack.com, it shows that size and the 17" size for the SE/SEL. What size do you have?

What ever happened to JCII?

I still wonder what happened to John. Did somone PO him? I did send a msg in the past because I wanted to make sure he was otherwise OK, and at least it isn't a health issue. Wish you the best John.

Same here, only mine was a '64. It was hot, but couldn't keep up with my Dad's 64 1/2 Mustang. It was delivered by mistake with the 271 HP engine, and an automatic tranny. Wasn't supposed to happen, and he had a couple of tranny repairs, but it was hot. Loved the Galaxy conv., even when I floated th...

The article didn't mention the "true" story. It had a design that was too advanced for the time. Look at Pontiacs about 10 years later and tell me if you see any resemblance. They sold well, just 10 years too early.

Disagree.

I have to disagree, since Home Depot was great about supporting our Troops. On my son's 2nd deployment, they had a program asking for any job they could do to support his service, and the only thing we could come up with was the blacktop drive at his house needed to be coated. This was done at no ch...

Try a Mercury dealer.

I'm sure if you call a Mercury dealer, they can look the number up. Also any body shop should be able to help you.

Amen.

I have never figured out why people can't figure out that a Ford, Chevy or once again, a Dodge, made in Canada or Mexico brings more money into the US economy than a Camry made in Ky. One of these made in Chicago is really a no brainer, but I guess there are a lot of brainless folks around here now ...

IIHS ratings.

From what I have reaqd, the side ratings were not good, because the IIHS requires a vehicle to have side airbags to earn this. Similar to the required stability control package for a Good rating on rollover. In other words, they have decreed that in their opinion these things make more difference th...

This confirms my fears. They can monitor where you go, when, and how fast. The only difference is if you say OK to them, they will give you a break. If you don't say OK, they do it anyway and save money.

I haven't installed this yet, but I have seen several replies from folks that have. I think most indicated it was relatively easy, but you do have to drill a couple of holes, and use a pop-rivet (from the replies I remember). Try searching the archives for this. Maybe angel500 can give you a hand.

Direct from the web is the only way in my area (Lex. Ky), and it is definitely worth ordering. I've gotten lazy and haven't used it this year, but it does a great job, and seems to last better than most.
