Re: Anyone else having problems with collision warning?

Still love driving my 2010 SHO, and still having trouble with the adaptive cruise control. It works great when it works, but it still cuts out on the highway when there is no traffic. The explanation I got was that the sensor does a self check every once in a while to make sure it is still working p...

Re: collision warning sensor failure

I had this problem, but only when driving on the highway with no traffic. I was told that the collision warning sensor does a periodic calibration, and if it doesn't see any cars, it thinks it has failed. I took it in a couple of times but they never really fixed the problem.

Re: 2013 Sho..First Impression Driving In The Snow

The tires are key. My SHO came with summer tires, so I bought a set of Blizzaks and what a difference! I find this the best car I have ever driven in the snow! It is better than my wife's ML 350 (with snow tires).

Re: Would you buy a Taurus again?

2010 SHO, 40,000 km (25,000 miles)
5 or 6 trips to the dealer to fix the adaptive cruise control.
Otherwise, one of the best cars I have ever owned. Fun to drive, lots of power, AWD with winter tires shreads through the snow, comfortable, looks great!
I will buy another.

Re: bad riding sho

Ronomy, Don't put the SHO away for the winter, buy a good set of winter tires and enjoy the ride. The AWD and winter tires will take you everywhere (except really deep snow) that the truck will, and you will be comfortable. This is the best vehicle I have ever driven on snow and ice (including a GMC...

Re: 2010 -2011 Taurus ALL Models - Intermittent Shut down

jtay123 (or Ford Customer Service) What was the solution to your shut-down problem? My 2010 SHO has done it to me twice in the last 18 months (second time was yesterday). I am taking my car in tomorrow and would like to have them look into this for me. Unlikely they can replicate the problem, so it ...

Re: Ford Taurus 2010 SHO Cruise Control

Thanks for your insightful comment.
When the sensor doesn't work because of snow or dirt, the system says "sensor blocked."

Re: Ford Taurus 2010 SHO Cruise Control

Does it also say "Collision Warning Unavailable"? My 2010 SHO had a problem with the adaptive cruise control which was caused by the collision warning system. It took about 10 trips to the dealer, but they finally fixed the problem. Have your dealer call Metro Ford in Calgary (Canada) and they shoul...

Re: Burnt Oil Smell?

Just a thought, but were you using the heated seat on high when you noticed the smell? I noticed the burnt oil smell a few times too when I first got the car, but have not noticed it lately.

Re: Anyone else having problems with collision warning?

djarboe Metro Ford in Calgary finally fixed the problem with my SHO! Have your service guy call Bane Timotijevic at Metro Ford (403) 262-0840 to get the details of what they did. It was a frustrating 6 months, but it has been working for over a month now. Love the car and have not had any other prob...

Re: Adaptive Cruise Control and General Questions

My 2010 SHO has had problems with the ACC as well. I have had it to the dealer 10 times and they have still not been able to fix it. My problem seems to be with the collision warning system which works in conjunction with the ACC. On my car, the system fails only when I am driving on an open road wi...

Anyone else having problems with collision warning?

After one month, my 2010 SHO collision warning system started to fail. It only seems to happen while driving on the highway with no traffic. I first noticed it while using the adaptive cruise control which works in conjunction with the collision warning system. I have had it to two different dealers...

Re: Well I'm pissed off.

Any luck with the collision warning system? So far they have replaced the sensor and the cluster (whatever that is) and had problems getting the system reprogrammed. Still does not work while driving on the highway with no traffic in front (just when the cruise control would come in handy)
