Re: 2013 ford taurus: no temp gauge?

Ditto My primary display is like the photo circular tachometer and bar graph fuel and temp.

You can also get vehicle pages and bar graph tachometer and fuel. The programmers figured that the two primary displays to keep always available are tachometer and Fuel.

Re: 1.25 gallons below EMPTY

YOUR RESULTS MAY VARY I personally would not recommend this but your discretion. I definitely wouldn't recommend it outside a urban area with stations a plenty. The trip computer is designed with a little slop built in to prevent totally running out. If you run out going below empty don't blame Ford...

Re: 2013 Taurus 6 cyl flex fuel

I tried a tank of E85 in my Escape once..........ONCE.......I lost about a hundred miles off the tank under normal driving condtions. Honestly not worth it you lose economy, performance and range. It may seem cheaper on paper but if your having to fill up more often then not a true savings.

Re: Low Tire Pressure Warning

We joke but if you really think about it not that funny especially when your having "Professionals" inspecting the tires. Checking tire thread for obvious defects is not part of their infrastructure it IS their infrastructure.

Re: Low Tire Pressure Warning

I agree with Ghost If a tIre shop can't find something as obvious as a screw in the tread then they shouldn't be a tire shop they should be folding shirts at JC Penney. There is not advanced diagnostic capability for a screw in the tread other than the old fashioned Mark 1 Mod 0 Eyeball.

Re: 2011 Taurus 3.5L Water Pump Failure

Jack, I am having to agree with WebMaster it is a faulty design. Yes it is bad to continue after overheating but designing such a critical engine component that can damage the entire engine is bad especially with the fact that although water pumps fail they should not take out other components. Whil...

Sascha I thought that too but trust me the doors can lock. A probably one in a million chance but trust me it can be done. I did it last summer, Sunday Afternoon the local self spray wash nozzle just happened to hit the keypad with the proper number combination to lock with keys in the vehicle. Loca...

Re: HID Headlight Conversion

I would not go so far as to say worried about the headlights but I will say to not expect a lot of favors for beam pattern and forward projection. They may MEET federal specifications but is there anything that says a manufacturer can't exceed them? Since you haven't picked up your vehicle yet you m...

Re: HID Headlight Conversion

If you can check at the dealer, ask them if they have the Edge dust boot and if you can order the boot as a single purchase. If by chance they have both dust boots in stock for a side by side comparison it would be interesting to see if the Edge dust boot would fit.

Re: HID Headlight Conversion

A very sharp Utility knife and a VERY SMALL X CUT in the center. Cut from the center and probably no more than about 1/8-1/4" at a time and snake the wiring harness through from the bulb end first. After that you can re attach the dust boot. I admit it was pretty cheap the video for the install uses...

Good catch Webmaster I glossed over the NGK Plugs part.........Definitely go back to OEM plugs and start over again. I was reading in another forum that believe it or not the Iridium Plugs was one o the parts of engine performance that Ford DID GET RIGHT the first time. I am skeptical about the 100K...

Re: Blinking CEL 2011 Taurus SHO

+2 on Expensive and +2 on fast.....Have codes read quickly. If you recently changed plugs the most obvious place to start with is there. Did you check the connections on the Coil packs? Not trying to insult your intelligence but that would be a good starting point. If coil packs are connected check ...

Re: HID Headlight Conversion

Google Carxenon hid kits. That's the one I used for my 2013 SEL around $100 and pretty easy to install. I recommend the 6000K with 35W Ballast and the turn signal cancellor. The 6000K is about the highest brightness without blinding other drivers and or making you overly obvious to police.

If you don't mind me asking Capt. Cool what city is this? Interceptor Sedans seem to be rare in Texas at least Dallas Area. The only one I definitely know of in the Metroplex is Fort Worth.

Greetings and welcome aboard I can start with a few answers to get you started. Livernois Tuner: Although not the only tuning kit out there this is one of the more popular ones, and from what I gather fairly easy to install if you follow the instructions. LED Retrofit: I am fairly confident in a NO....
