Re: Driver seat heat

I paid $1400 for my Ford 6yr 100k warranty.

Call Ray Seraphin Ford in Rockville, CT. If you can get the warranty, they will sell it to you at a really good bargain. Might not get the price I paid, (my father knows the owner), but they will treat you well.

Re: Front Struts

Matthew,

It is a bad set of struts. Force Ford to replace them. They don't need greasing, they need replacing.

Re: TSB front strut replaced on our 2008

The issue is crappy struts. Make them replace them and keep replacing them until you get a good set. As previously state, I am on my 3rd set and I have 45k on my car.

Re: aftermarket shocks

Considering I paid $17k for my car in 2008 and it is still worth at least $14k (13k on a trade), I think I am ok on the sale of my vehicle. I hate getting below 16 mpg driving to and from work. It's ridiculous for any sedan to be that bad. I have owned a Dodge Intrepid and a Pontiac Bonneville which...

Re: aftermarket shocks

Tony,

I understand. I am not looking at a new hybrid. I found a 2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid for just a little more than my 08 Sable. Haven't pulled the trigger yet, but seriously considering it.

Re: Front Struts

That is what I have had twice. It is a bad strut, which is covered under the extended warranty if you have it.

Re: aftermarket shocks

All 3 pairs were front shocks. Rears have been holding fine.

I have decided to trade the car in. I am getting 16 mpg in the city. I am going to a hybrid. I am sick of getting such low fuel economy.

I am on my 3rd set with 44k miles on the vehicle. Neither of the 1st 2 sets were leaking. they were simply shot.

Re: TSB front strut replaced on our 2008

I had mine replaced at 14k and then again at 42k. It can't be just one bad batch of struts.

I live near Coldwater, MI and pick up the Fort Wayne radio stations when I get to Angola, which is about 55 miles away.

Re: 2008, highway vibration??

I had that in a different vehicle. It was the tires out of balance. It took 3 attempts to balance at 3 different garages. They were Bf Goodrich tires. When I went to a Bf Goodrich factory store, they were finally successful in balancing them and no more vibration. It could also be a bent rim or the ...

They told me it was considered part of the suspension and therefore covered under the warranty.

Re: Front Struts

That's the sound it was making for me. I can't stand noises like that. They will be replacing them as often as they need them or I will get rid of this car.

I have the Ford Factory extended warranty. I don't remember which one, but it is suppose to cover pretty much everything.

I had them done at the local Ford Dealer. I have a 100k mile warranty, so it cost me $100 for both.

Front Struts

Just had my second set of struts put on our Sable. The 1st set was put on at 15k miles and I now have 43k miles. Is anyone else having problems with their struts?

Re: Thinking of buying an 08 or 09 Taurus

I looked at an 08 Sable at a local Ford Dealer. They were asking 18k for it. I still have mine available and I am only asking $14,500 if anyone is interested.

Re: Rear brake job

Auto Zone will loan you the tool for free. I will be replacing the brakes on my car next weekend. Is it difficult to remove the rotor or do they just come off?
