Re: Peeling Chrome [Tail Lights]

Well, I guess that's proof enough for me that they're using the same crummy junk for replacements!  - - - - - and that they don't really care about their customers. Shame, shame on Ford.

Re: Opinion for speaker upgrade

No wonder my life's been so screwed up! I never knew whether it was looking at or towards the front. That's why I always used driver or passenger side. Now, let's see if I can get this passenger side hand to hoist me another brewski.

Re: Trinity Site

I was sent to Las Cruces in 1980 on a 5 month temporary assignment for USPS. I visited the White Sands Missile Range several times, because we had a post office there. But I was so busy licking stamps I didn't have much time to take in Trinity Site.

Re: Oil/Filter Change Prices by Stealers.

What are you complaining about? I've always done my own oil/filter changes - that is, until I bought my Taurus. I did one oil change myself on it, and it cost about $25.00 for Motorcraft oil and Fram filter at Walmart. So seems to me that "the works" for 30 bucks is a great deal! Think I'm hearing a...

Re: ATTENTION MFT Owners.....

April 13 Consumer Reports talks about problems with MFT on Page 19. Aside from user problems on 2012 models (complicated to use, plagued with problems, system locked up, slow to respond or had a blank screen, voice commands/touch buttons didn't work properly, repairs didn't work), CR had numerous el...

Re: Is Ford ESP extended Warranty worth the money?

Well, I finally made the leap. I found a PremiumCare ESP online thru a dealership in RI for $1360.00 - 7 years (4 years additional), 100,000 miles, $50 deductible. Whew! I'm feeling relieved, because my original factory warranty is up on Monday. :D :D :D

Re: New 2013

Did you folks notice, just when Ford's ratings tanked, US News is touting the 2013 Taurus as the best large car? You lucky dogs who have new ones. Wish I was so flush that I could just go out and get a new one. On second thought, then I'd just be a chick magnet again. :)

Active Cruise Control/Collision Avoidance

Had a freaky thing happen yesterday while driving from Sacramento to Sonora in my T. I was following a car with my ACC set at 58 mph. The green ACC indicator light in the instrument cluster was on indicating that the gap between cars was "safe" (at least insofar as my gap setting was concerned). As ...

Re: Ford day at the local supermarket

Yep. I hate car dings too. I always park far away from cars and shopping carts. It drives me crazy when I see people (mostly women) drive around and around a parking lot until they get the closest space. Not only is the walking good, you don't have to pay for belonging to a gym! And sometimes, when ...

Re: Low Tire Pressure Warning

Hey, wait just a minute! What's with the bashing of Umatilla, Oregon ? When I lived and worked in Tri-Cities, WA, I would drive across the Columbia River to Umatilla, OR just to clear my head. And I even "toured" the weapons depot there. I also survived Mt. St. Helens blowing her top. As you can tel...

Re: Brake pedal fade

I tested my T, and it does go to the floor with the car running, but stopped. The minute though that I move the car, they work fine. And did you notice that the very same thing happens when you're driving and you stop at a light - even with it in gear? But I'm thinking, why would you do this? You're...

Re: Is Ford ESP extended Warranty worth the money?

Thanks, BillR. It's in the actual contract (which of course I hadn't seen before). It can be cancelled at any time with pro-rata refund for unused months less repairs made against it and a $75.00 fee. So, in the case of the car being totaled, hopefully - based on Taurus' good safety ratings - I'd st...

Re: Is Ford ESP extended Warranty worth the money?

I know my mind is working overtime on this, but does anyone know what happens if you buy an extended warranty and then later your car is totaled (God forbid)? Is there a refund for the unused portion of it?
