Hi All,

I’m having a dilemma with my 2008 Ford Taurus with approximately 175.000 miles! I received a P0420 code which is Bank 1, Cat not operating correctly. I replaced all 4 O2 sensors however the code returned and is now more frequent than before. The vehicle has California emissions. I have searched and no one seems to sell California (CARB) certified Cats only EPA Federal emission cats. What options do I have? What would happen if I installed a Federal cat?

A Ford dealer near you should be able to provide the correct one. I'm not in CA but I hear they're pretty strict with emissions.

That's the whole point I don't want to deal with the dealer.

You didn’t give any indication of wanting to avoid the dealership in your post. Try known exhaust manufacturer websites and RockAuto, maybe you’ll luck out?? Dealer as a last resort though.
