Dislike! It looks to much like a Fusion.

I agree. I will wait and hope pics of the actual car are different.

Heh, time to wake up...The US does not drive the auto market anymore but China sure does.

As per the article, a few choice clips:
Ford has unveiled the all-new Taurus at a special event in Shanghai ahead of the car’s formal debut at the auto show held in the Chinese metropolis next week.

Described as a “new premium business sedan for China,” the new Taurus looks like a larger Fusion, sporting similar headlights, grille and profile.

Since second-row passengers are most important in this class of vehicles in China, the Taurus is equipped with power-reclining rear seats with optional adjustable lumbar support and a massage function. Rear-seat passengers also get a control panel for air conditioning, seat functions and car media hidden in the center seat cushion.

Under the hood, the new Ford Taurus gets the new twin-turbo 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine, with an as-yet-unspecified power rating. The new Taurus will be built at the recently opened Changan Ford Hangzhou Plant in China, following a $760 million investment. Ford’s sixth plant in the country, the Hangzhou facility has a maximum annual capacity of 250,000 vehicles on a flexible production line.

Ford didn’t say whether the US-spec 2016 Ford Taurus, expected to launch in the third quarter this year, will be identical with the Chinese-spec model. However, it’s unlikely to be very different, given the automaker’s One Ford strategy.
And, it's not just Ford, all the big players are turning to China and their likes and dislikes. <shrug>

Yep, the Chinese car market is insanely huge. If you've been following the auto industry, you'll see China is HOT and that's where the action is. And, "domestic" US automakers are trending towards more and more production of North American vehicles being built in Mexico.

Back to the car... the grille looks very Hyundai to me, but overall it looks like a little bulkier Fusion. That photo makes the car look upscale though which will help Ford in China.

Where are the fog lights? don't they have fog in China?
I dont like the front end at all. Cant tell it from the rest of the Ford lineup. Heated and cooled seats in the rear with lumbar sheesh. How much will this car cost when its optioned out. I couldn't get the PP because of the ACC but I got everything else and it wasn't cheap. I also got the flaking tail lights as a bonus LOL

I like it so far. However, for some reason Ford is not posting photos of the front seats and dash. I wonder why?

Sorry to disappoint all of you, but this is probably not coming here.

In fact, depending on how they want to address the police market, there may not be a Taurus in a few years.

The problem is Ford's advertising. Can not remember the last time Ford advertised the Taurus. The same thing happened to the Crown Victoria. Last time I saw a CV commercial was 1997. They advertise the crap out of the Fusion, Mustang, Focus, Fiesta alot though. If any model should die quickly, its the Focus and Fiesta. When Ford stops advertising a car, to me that tells me that Ford will just ride the wave and let the car die. They think a car will stay alive by fleet sales only (rental and police fleets) and they are mistaken. Ford did this with the Crown Victoria too, which ironically the Taurus replaced. They thought it may survive on fleet sales. I "like" a few Ford dealer pages on Facebook. They typically make up a collage of their cars and have contests of which you would want to win. The Taurus is always noticeably absent. Its sad because its a great car and would rather have it over a Fusion.

What you see there is exactly how our next Taurus will look like. Ford made it clear that the design won't be much different, but the content will.

IF, and only IF, there is another Taurus. Taurus may be killed off.

Lets not panic yet....Other articles mention the US SPEC design and release date is scheduled for late 2015 with sales 2016. If it gets killed off not much we can do but keep positive for now.

If it comes, and again, that's an if, it won't be late 2015. One) it has not had a North American introduction at any auto show, two) it's not on the list of any introductions for the next four to six months, leaving maybe the LA show, three) no one at Flat Rock Assembly Plant has heard a peep about production coming there, yet the new Lincoln Continental, the MKS replacement, is going there according to both hourly and salaried employees I know there, and four) none of my former colleagues in the tooling business have heard a peep about quoting the tooling for a new Taurus, yet new Continental rfq's are starting to make the rounds.

Not very promicing, and as you said, nothing we can do about it.

How about a Gen-7 Taurus for the US? Looks like a borrowed chassis, less weight and pretty much nothing like the China version. Interesting speculation at the very least.

If there's a Gen 7 Taurus, it absolutely will be a version of the Taurus debuted in China. The website posted, newcarannouncements.com exists to sell advertising, and doesn't have clue one about what the next gen Taurus looks like.

Saw a Taurus prototype a few weeks ago, in Auburn Hills, and despite the body wrap film camouflage, it absolutely was the Taurus previously previewed in Shanghai. From a distance, driving toward me, it looked like a larger Fusion, and I wasn't certain what I was seeing until it passed me, and I saw the rear end.

I made the link to that site no longer a link. It is such a low quality "made for ads" site I didn't want to have anyone accidentally visit there.

There's a lot of those sites. Kind of ridiculous, if you ask me.
