Re: It's offical: 2010 Ford Taurus SHO
Sweet car. It will be interesting to see how many they sell, the Taurus nameplate doesn't have the best reputation right now, I bet 365hp and AWD will help draw some people back to Ford.
I like it!

Should Ford decide to suck from National teat, like GM and Chrysler, it will be interesting to hear Mr. Mulally defend this baby to the US Congress. Not to mention (choke) a price starting at $38,000!

Re: It's offical: 2010 Ford Taurus SHO
Considering that the original Taurus SHO started at just under $20,000, when a "regular" loaded Taurus LX was about $12,000 to $14,000, the 2010 SHO's $38,000 price isn't out of line in the least when you consider that it's fully loaded, has few options, and an all wheel drive 2009 Taurus Limited starts at $33,345.PMCErnie wrote:Should Ford decide to suck from National teat, like GM and Chrysler, it will be interesting to hear Mr. Mulally defend this baby to the US Congress. I'm sure that Mr. Mullaly will tell all that to Nancy Pelosi. Then she will say, "Off with his head! No soup for you!"Len_A wrote:Considering that the original Taurus SHO started at just under $20,000, when a "regular" loaded Taurus LX was about $12,000 to $14,000, the 2010 SHO's $38,000 price isn't out of line in the least when you consider that it's fully loaded, has few options, and an all wheel drive 2009 Taurus Limited starts at $33,345.PMCErnie wrote:Should Ford decide to suck from National teat, like GM and Chrysler, it will be interesting to hear Mr. Mulally defend this baby to the US Congress. By the way, who is going to buy a Taurus SHO when they could get a similar Lincoln for $.50 more?

MKS Sport with Ecoboost is going to cost a bit more than fifty cents more. You just enjoy being try to throw cold water on others enthusiasm, but all you end up doing is looking stupid. There are plenty of SHO fans who won't be interested in the MKS.PMCErnie wrote:I'm sure that Mr. Mullaly will tell all that to Nancy Pelosi. Then she will say, "Off with his head! Why do you resort to calling names at those who don't agree with you? No need for that kind of language here. Make your points without the bad language and insults.Len_A wrote:MKS Sport with Ecoboost is going to cost a bit more than fifty cents more. Oh please spare me. There's no insult there, and no bad language. Plenty of enthusiasm for the 2010 Taurus & SHO, and those who like can do without getting their chain yanked by those who don't.PMCErnie wrote:Why do you resort to calling names at those who don't agree with you? I like it as well, and I agree - I think it's going to be a nice halo car for Ford. I can't wait to see the road test reviews when all the car mags get their hands on one.Webmaster wrote:Sweet car. Oops, you forget, Len. This is America where we are all free to give an opinion. But looking over many of your recent posts, it's evident that you feel the need to sprinkle your opinions with couched obscenities and insults. You is one angry dude lately.Len_A wrote:Oh please spare me. There's no insult there, and no bad language. And you know what? For the time being, you're on "ignore". I like the 2010 Taurus, I like what I see in the SHO, and it seems so do a few others. You don't, that's your right, but I'm done responding.

"You've clearly never taken our Ford Fusion Hybrid for a spin, which handily beats the Toyota Camry, and in more than just fuel efficiency. (By the way, Toyota also lost a cool few billion last I heard. I think they're waiting outside.) We built the SHO to fill a niche demand in the market in the Taurus line. We've balanced this with our continually increasing hybrid lineup including the Escape, Fusion, with more to come. Keep an eye on us in the next two years for the US spec Festiva, and we'll be sure you'll be impressed at the new, relevant vehicles Ford Motor Company is building that people want to buy. That is, as soon as banks stop hoarding cash from the American People."

Starting price of $37k ,,,
I hope ford rethinks this price before it hits the showrooms, this is much to high for there target audience.
Damn sexy sedan though.

Very well said. Maybe Ford's PR department should get a copy of your resume!

Re: It's official: 2010 Ford Taurus SHO
Well, this is going to be a niche car. As I pointed out in an earlier post, an all wheel drive 2009 Taurus Limited starts at $33,345. For all the extras the SHO has, from trim to power train, another $4000 is pretty reasonable. Another thing to consider - the 268 HP 2009 Toyota Avalon Limited starts at over $35,000. And a 2009 C AWD starts at $38,835. $37,000 for a performance sedan isn't unreasonable.sleeper357 wrote:Starting price of $37k ,,,![]()
