I've never given CR much credence, and here's why:

-This Taurus has been the most fantastically reliable vehicle I've ever driven. I've only been to the dealer for a couple a bracket having snapped either during assembly or during the car wash, and a strut on the trunk that failed.

-MFT is not the demon it is made out to be. Could it be better? Yes. But again... it's worked almost perfectly for me. Once in a while a reset helps, but otherwise it's solid.

-They only highlight the "turbo" version as a problem, but the MFT so decried is common across those and naturally aspirated versions... and the blurb seems to make it about the SHO, not the 2.0L EcoBoosted ones in that group.

Too little information to be useful. Pass.

Consumer Reports should not be taken seriously as far as their car reviews. They are consistently for the foreign cars and seldom have anything nice to say about the domestics. If I want a car review, I will look at Car & Driver or something devoted to cars.

Alot of the lower ratings for Ford have to do with the My Touch system.

Consumer Reports would be my last source of information about cars. Toaster and microwave ovens yeah, but cars no.

I put a lot of stock in CR, because it mixes their own testing with actual owner experience. It has served me well for many, many years. Yes, including cars! :D
