07 missing on cylinder #5

Post by 1 Broke Dad » Thu Apr 18, 2013 6:20 pm

I am getting a P0305 code and I read that it means I'm missing on cylinder #5. I'm going to start by pulling the plug and checking it out. Does anyone have any advice on what else it could be and how to check it? Oh, and I think #5 is the front middle cylinder. Let me know if I'm wrong.

Thanks!!

Swap #5 plug with plug 4 and swap #5 Coil with cyl 6 and see where the misfire goes...

Do you have a gasoline smell inside the car at idle? Sounds like the plug may have come out. We had the same problem. Had to have an insert, not a helicoil, put in and never had the head taken off. Now it runs fine.

It turned out to just be the coil. Thankfully it was a simple fix.

Thanks for the input.
