Keypad on Door

Post by LEOinSC » Mon Aug 19, 2013 11:11 pm

So my 2013 just came in and i must say, it is a ton of fun. I however am curious, does anyone on here have one with the door lock keypad functional. My dept ordered an admin model with keyless entry, but i would love the use of the keypad. Does anybodys work or is it just for decoration like the phone/sirius/aux buttons?

I should add it would be interesting to see if any wiring is hooked up or not to that pad and if it would actually go to the BCM. If all that exists then one would have to wonder. My guess though is the wiring isn't there. I'm not pulling a door apart though lol

As a modder of of 2003 you will most likely have to run the for circuits.
Also, since it's on the pillar, you'll need to get the pillar finishing panel that surrounds it.

Symantec alert. There is no Body control module in ford.

Also unless, ford changed it, they run to the Smart Junction Box. It's the interior fuse panel/accessories computer.

These used to be separated devices called a CJB And GEM. The central junction box was the fuse panel and the GEM was the accessory computer. The GEM stool for Generic electronics module.

Around 2004 model years these were merged into one unit.

Before the GEM housed the keyless entry functions, there was an additional module called the RAP. or the remote Anti-theft Personality.

Has anyone seen a PI Sedan that has the keyless entry keypad functional? Service manual shows it is possible but wondering if it actually exists....

I am currently working on adding keyless entry via a key fob to a model not ordered with it. There is no add ons or wiring needed to do it ;)

I successfully was able to enable keyless entry and can use a factory fob to lock/unlock and pop the trunk on a car that was ordered without keyless entry.

I pulled the door panel off a squad and the wiring in the door needed for the keypad on the door itself is not present.

How did you do it? I'm interested. Trying to unlock these manually if it's pouring out sucks :(

I have one on my 09 Taurus. I love it! It's awesome. When I am at work, i just throw the keys under the seat, lock it and I never have to dig for my keys when I leave. If it ever stopped working, I think I would have a break down. You would love it!!!! :D Not to mention, no more locking the keys in the car or trunk accidentally!!!

Interestingly enough - my 2013 PI came with a plastic card that has the car keycode on it - but the panel does not light up or respond to presses.

More info later when i take the door panel off to install sound deadener and new speakers.

My trim is loose, looks like it was taped on from factory. I was thinking of yanking it off just to see what wires were behind it, if any.

There is a button module and wires behind my trim piece. So the physical stuff is there, it just needs the software side of things activated.

My 2017 came with that card also, but there IS no panel.

Dammit, Jim!

Well, my 2013 has the keypad - but doesn't respond to presses. haven't had time to take the door apart to see what the deal is yet.

That's my deal. I have buttons and wiring going down into the door, just no response. I'm not feeling pulling the door panel to investigate...

I see in the spreadsheet, the "Enable Keyless Entry (Disabled on Interceptors)" does this activate the keypad to light up? I appear to have the keypad, there is some funky indentation on the door that I think is this but it does not light up. I don't have my programmer with me to try it.

Any suggestions from those who have more knowledge with forscan than me? I do have the code off the sjb (five numbers and a letter). I would really like to see this work..
