EcoBoost is a little bit of bogus marketing. Think of it as Eco OR Boost, but not both at the same time. EcoBoost is simply a marketing name, it really doesn't mean much in reality. There is no EcoBoost mode or feature, it's just what they call the engine because it has a turbocharger.

So either drive it as though you have an egg between your foot and the gas pedal and you will be ECO driving or drive it like a normal person and use the BOOST and get the fuel economy of a V8.

I drove a 3.5 EcoBoost for 4.5 years. It never got good mileage regardless of what Ford said.
2000 Ford Taurus SEL (excellent car, sold to a friend)
1992 Mercury Sable GS (good car except for the tranny, sold)
Current: 03 F150 King Ranch SuperCrew
Other Fords owned: 02 F150 SuperCrew 4x4, 11 F150 EcoBoost, 07 Ranger, 01 F150 XLT, 98 F150 XLT, 96 Thunderbird LX, 95 Escort GT, 86 Mustang LX, 82 Mustang

My 2014 PI Ecoboost gets around 350 miles per tank mixed driving. It only has 50,000 miles too. I think that isn't great at all for a V6 Turbo. Plus considering that I'm driving it normal and hardly ever go WOT if at all.

My CVPI got better mileage than the Taurus does. Hell, my mom's XC90 monster gets better mileage than my Taurus.

Not freedom units but my cvpi (probably needed new plugs? not sure) 13l/100km for highway and 17l/100km mixed (horrible lol)

Taurus is ~9L/100km higway and 13/14 mixed

I have a non-turbo, and I get 15mpg...but I drive it like I stole it.

The CVPI had between 135 and 145 fewer horsepower. Them fewer horses were only driving one axle, too.

That's about what my Exploriceptor gets in town (improves to 18ish on the freeway). The Taurus manages 18/23 or so. Both non-turbos.
