I still won't buy Arco. Hope $5 never comes.
Of course, I said that about $4, $3 and $2. :|

Bought Kroger regular at $3.82 yesterday. People were killing for Shell gas at $3.79 (5 cents off on Thursdays). It's just not worth the pump-jockeying battles, though, in those cramped gas station lots. Your blood pressure and road rage meter hit new heights in such situations. Let's face it - people are animals!

While filling up at Hess I talked to the guy from michigan with a pickup. He was filling his 100 gal tank with diesel - said it will cost him $500 when he was done. I can't see where the better mileage from a diesel will make up for a dollar( or more) over the price of regular. We don't need terrorists here the oil companies are holding us hostage!! From the politicians to the corporations we don't stand a chance.

$4.09 this morning, $4.99 for Diesel.

Highest was a week or so ago at $4.12 and $5.03, respectively. However, after today's $10+ dollar spike in a barrel of crude, I expect the price to have skyrocketed significantly.

Fortunately my Fusion isn't more than 3 gallons short of a full tank. :-/

Are you ready for this?...

Sunday morning, Shell station on the corner of San Vicente and Fairfax in downtown LA.
This is typically one of the most expensive self-serve stations in the area. I was in the neighborhood, so I swung by to see how much:

Regular: $4.60
Plus: $4.70
Premium: $4.80

Um, not many cars lining up here.

Now $4.299 in Seattle area. (Still lagging behind LA, though.)

On another note, I read that Prius sales are down almost 40%.

No, netty, not because they're "junk" Toyota's, but because Toyota can't get enough batteries to build the Prius backlog. Apparently other hybrid manufacturers are having a similar battery production problem.

Wait until turdota prius owners have to replace those batteries

Then the sales will be down!

I wonder if turdota prius owners are the same idiots and goons that are the NIMBY's, eco-terrorists and other wacko's in this country that don't want alternative energy supplies or drilling for oil in OUR OWN COUNTRY?

As of yesterday, gas at the closest town to me was $3.89 for regular. Apparently, Missouri has the cheapest (?) gas in the lower 48 from what I've heard on the news lately. We're going to Memphis in a couple of weeks; gas prices in southern Missouri are usually lower than where I live, so we may fill up when we stop at Sikeston to eat at Lambert's-home of throwed rolls. 8)

What - ever   Battery replacement on the Prius is a pretty rare occurrence, good thing Toyota backs it with an EIGHT year warranty :P I had the tranny go south on my 01 F-150 at 50K miles. That was $3,000 out of my pocket. Vehicles break down no matter what make & model.

You could always put in a slightly used battery pack, here's a pack from an 07 Prius for $500 [eBay]

OK, to keep it on topic. Gas here is $1.399/L or $5.30/gallon (US). That's a record here

Went up AGAIN in 2 days. Summarizing from my previous posts:

5/25 - $4.039
5/27 - $4.139
5/28 - $4.159
6/4 - $4.219
6/5 - $4.259
6/10 - $4.299
6/12 - $4.359
6/14 - $4.379

It looks like an increase every other day. That's not Supply & Demand, that's gouging.

I've heard that the US gov't requires hybrid manufacturers to warrant them for 8 years. I have no problem with that :-)
