I bought a 2008 Premier AWD Sable in August of 2011 from Salem Ford Hyundai in Salem New Hampshire. After I had the car a week or so I noticed a sound like a tire was out of balance. I wasn't going to drive from Massachusetts to New Hampshire to balance a tire, but another week or so I decided to try the heated seat. It was a fairly cool night in early Sept, and not exactly heated seat weather, but I wanted to try it. Light flashed a few times, then went off. No Heat. Did some searching, the drivers side heated seat is like an epidemic, because so many models have the problem. Ford had issued several TSPs on it and they talk about how to route the wire on the replacement unit (not like the original) that says they screwed up initially. The dealer replaced the element & seat foam material etc & replaced all 4 tires because it was an AWD car, and only 1 tire was replaced just before I bought it. AWD requires pairs or all 4 be replaced at the same time. Can't say enough about the dealer. Just print out some of the TSBs and ask that they correct their problem. Or like someone else previously mentioned, find another dealer.

Just thought I would update everyone:
It is now March 31st and still not able to speak with a Ford reporesentative about my seat. My local dealer said there is nothing they can do. I called my local ford dealer and they said that the service manager has my ticket and is "waiting" for a response from Ford. It will probably never come.

I just got my passenger side heated seat fixed with a $100 deductible under the Certified Pre-owned Warranty. The drivers side had already been done and when I asked the dealer if they were now using a different style or brand because of so many problems he claimed that it is over exaggerated on the net and not that many have been replaced locally... Sure... that's why they stock them now!

My local Ford dealer says they are not covered. I am going to try one more Ford dealer, but I doubt they will cover it.

I think this will be my last Ford product.

How did your dealer determine they were not covered? That just should not be. Mine were covered under the premium ext warranty.

You can check the coverages included in your Premiumcare Warranty, Pastor J. Also, you can contact our ESP Sales Center at 1-888-252-3899 for more info.

They must verify the parts needed and check for coverages available, 2008FordTaurus.

Dealerships tell Ford Motor Company what to do. Until this changes I will not buy Ford

Have you contacted the CRC to double check this info, or to get understanding as to why they are advising no coverage, Pastor J? If not, I recommend you contact them at 1-800-392-3673 and let me know the outcome.

Deysha,

I contacted them twice and was told that they had to have someone call me back, which no one ever did.

3rd Ford Dealer is the charm though. Parts are on order and car should be fixed on Saturday. I shouldn't have to go through this, but thankful to my local Ford dealer.

this will be my last time discussing Ford Motor Company, for I have no interest in buying another Ford. There is a time in life when you get older that you cannot deal with a company like Ford. However I will be keeping my 2008 Taurus limited till it drops dead or trade it in.

Glad to learn it was taken care of, Pastor J. I’ll be more than happy to document your experience with both of those dealers as well. PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, best daytime number, and description of the incidents if you’d like me to.
