Re: Center Console "Mod"
Did you buy any extra parts?
DON'T buy from paid PI mod sites, stay away from dealer programming! message me for help or questions.

Other than the console assembly itself? No, it bolts in using the same hardware that holds the metal police console down.crownedking wrote:Did you buy any extra parts?
I did however do some custom wiring to make all 12v plugs, cup holder accent lighting, and etc.. to work.

Sorry to revive an older thread, I was wondering where you got the curved piece that has the two cigarette lighter and temp sensor? and whats the part number?Steele wrote:Bit of an update, did some refinement.
End result of today's work. Police console plate modded to work with SHO style civilian console, console shifter removed with a block off plate fabricated to go in it's place, and the factory lighting hooked up.

I just put an SEL console in mine and have a gap between the ashtray and radio
Thanks!

Re: Center Console "Mod"
Hey, Nice work on the conversion!! I just did the same "somewhat" haven't hooked up the lights or deleted the shifter...I'm mainly concerned with finding out if the Aux audio input can be jiggered into the head unit with the harness adapters that are in the SHO console and the wiring that comes behind from the old console.. thanks for any and all pointers.
Re: Center Console "Mod"
short answer is yes.......you can add in aux functionality. There is a plug in kit (ACM plugs and aux/faceplate into the interceptor block off above glove box) you can buy.
I wanted to use the existing aux input in the center console after completing that mod so I just pinned from the ACM and ran down to the center console input. Correct plugs and soldering is all that's required. I've posted the ACM pinout diagram in the past regarding this, but you should look up the one specific to the year of your car.
Edit: I can't imagine there's a plug and play option to do this mod, while the harness into the console could be mated, you've still got to pin into the existing ACM plug. You're either running a sub harness from ACM to console harness or ACM directly into the aux input. The latter is easier imo.

Re: Center Console "Mod"
Okay....but NOBODY has asked the $1,000,000.00 question. Does the audio input in the SHO console have the ability to be spliced into the wiring that comes out of where the old console was?
Re: Center Console "Mod"
Clearly, I'm missing something that you're trying to convey - are you saying that the SHO center console is in some way different than any other civilian center console? If that is the case, I've not seen a SHO console to know what the difference is. When you say 'where the old console was' are you referring to a service console? Almost all of the post-service interceptors come without any existing console.
If you're asking if an aux input can be spliced into a non-sync interceptor, i just answered that question in the affirmative. Except, as I stated, you're really pinning into the ACM and creating a sub harness down to either the console main plug or directly to the factory mounted input jack in the console (which imo is easier).

Re: Center Console "Mod"
You must then also activate the aux function via software changes/OBD2
